10.5% Increase in homes sales in Spain
According to recent data published by the INE (Spanish National Statistics Institute), in the property transfers record report, during February 2011 were carried out 45,607 home sales operations in Spain, which is an increase of 10.5% compared to February 2010.
90.2% of home trades recorded in the property records are for urban properties and 9.8% for rural properties. In the case of urban properties, 57.5% (45,607 units) are house sales of which 39,268 were free housing and 6,339 were subsidized housing.
Increase in property sales in July 2010
The property sales in Spain increased during the month of July 2010 by 16.4% in relation to the same month in 2009. During July 2010, 43.838 sales operations were carried out, according to the details provided by the Spanish National Statistics Institute, INE, details obtained through the Property Registers with regards to the property rights.
Of the operations sealed, 51% of the sales correspond to new properties, these are 22.597 operations, and 48.5% second hand properties, which translates to 21.241 operations.
The Euribor rate closes July at 1.373%
The details provided by the Spanish National Statistics Institute INE (Instituto Nacional de Estadística), set the Euribor, the main spanish mortgage index, at 1.373% July 2010, with a monthly rate which for the fourth consecutive month has undergone an upward shift. The Euribor closed July 2009 at 1.412% so this figure still allows mortgage holders who will have their mortgage reviewed this month a reduction of their monthly repayments, that represents a saving of 36 Euros per year, if we take as an example an average mortgage of 120.000 Euros at 20 years, representing 2 or 3 euros per month.
Increase in property transactions in May 2010
In May 2010 a total of 37,784 property sales transactions were signed, 3,400 more than during April 2010 (inter-monthly rate of May over April of 7.3%). If we compare this figure with that obtained in May 2009, we also obtain a positive result because, in May 2010, 3772 more homes were sold than in May 2009, with an year-on-year rate for the first five months of the year of 11.5%.
Sales transactions during April 2010
According to data provided by the INE (National Statistics Institute) the number of property sales transactions in Spain reached 34,326 units during the month of April 2010, this figure represents an increase of 17.60% compared with the data obtained in April 2009. This figure is the lowest in 2010 but is the fourth consecutive year-on-year improvement for 2010.
