Housing Price Report in June 2010
According to the semi-annual report on purchase prices carried out by the research bureau of Real Estate Market Index for Apartments (IMIP) for Spain, Moraira (Teulada) is the town within the Alicante province with the highest prices in the Valencian Region.
The IMIP represents the change in price per square meter of housing in Spain by Autonomous Regions, Provinces and Municipalities, based on data from January 2009. The report indicated that the Valencian autonomy is the fifth autonomous region with the most affordable housing in the country.
The price of housing in Spain during the month of June 2010 is 2,402€/sqm in Alicante City, this being below the national average which stood at 1,976€/sqm. In Altea, the housing price is 2,591€/sqm, in Poble Nou de Benitachell it is 2,337€/sqm, in Javea/Xabia it is 2,546€/sqm, Calpe 2,292€/sqm, Moraira (Teulada) 3,271€/sqm (the town with the highest prices in the Valencian Region), Benidorm 3,096€/sqm, Denia 2,217€/sqm.
This data points out Benitachell and, in particular, the Cumbre del Sol urbanization, as one of the areas with the most attractive housing prices compared to the two neighbouring tourist towns: 209 €/sqm cheaper than Javea/Xabia which is only 7 km away and 934 €/sqm cheaper than in Moraira (Teulada), only 4 km away.
