Increase in property sales in Spain during May

In May 2010 a total of 37,784 property sales transactions were signed, 3,400 more than during April 2010 (inter-monthly rate of May over April of 7.3%). If we compare this figure with that obtained in May 2009, we also obtain a positive result because, in May 2010, 3772 more homes were sold than in May 2009, with an year-on-year rate for the first five months of the year of 11.5%.

Apartments for rent at Cumbre del Sol

This summer the apartment rental prices in the Valencian Autonomous Region have been reduced with discounts between 10 and 15%, depending on the area and the accommodation.

The price for an apartment on the beach with all interior fittings and swimming pool for four or five people for one week in August, including VAT, varies by area: in Denia the price is 770 euros; in Benidorm (a building in the town centre)it is 646 euros; in Orihuela (urbanization), 663 euros; and in Cumbre del Sol Poble Nou de Benitachell it is 550 euros.

The mortgage reference rate increases again in June

The Euribor interest rate, which is used as reference for most mortgages in Spain, ended the month of June 2010 at 1.281%, which make these three consecutive months on the rise and marks its highest value since August 2009 when it stood at 1.334%. Analysts say it will continue to increase its value slightly.

The reason for predicting the increase of the Euribor rate is the uncertainty in the interbank market, which has not improved even after the European Central Bank guaranteed liquidity or the Spanish Treasury auctions closed successfully.
