Rambling Excursions in Jávea during March 2010
Rambling is becoming a more and more popular pastime. Jávea municipality is ideal for taking up rambling, given its coastline and marvellous landscape. The Town Council has organised guided rambling excursions throughout the year for discovering and enjoying the beautiful Jávea countryside.
In March, two excursions have been organised taking in stages of the Community of Valencia 355 short route.
The first excursion will take place on Sunday 21 March and runs from Jávea Harbour to Cape San Antonio, taking in the recreation ground, Chapel, ‘Los Molinos’ and returning to Jávea Harbour. It is a circular route with a duration of around 3 hours and a low level of difficulty.
Granadella Cove Rambling Excursion
For Sunday 14 February, Jávea Town Council has organised a guided rambling excursion, the Granadella Cove – Castell – Gurugú byway route, part of the short PR CV 354 route in the Community of Valencia.
Meeting and departure at 09:00h from Granadella Cove car park. Route duration is approximately 3 hours and its difficulty level is classed as medium. Bring water, a snack, suitable walking footwear and a camera for capturing the incredible sea views.
Granadella Cove is in the Marina Alta area located within the municipal boundaries of Jávea, near Cape Nao. To get to Granadella Cove, take the Cape Nao road and before arriving at Cape Nao turn off to the right following signs to the Cove. There is a car parking area and next to the restaurant is the signpost for the start of route PR CV 354.
Calpe Royal Yacht Club 7th Spanish Open
The 7th Spanish Open yacht race will be held in Calpe’s Royal Yacht Club from 27 April to 1 May 2010. It is organised by Calpe’s Royal Yacht Club and the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV), under the jurisdiction of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and with the backing of the Sailing Federation of the Autonomous Community of Valencia (FVCV).
It is an ISAF grade 1 event, sailed in TOM 28, with a maximum of four crew members, including the skipper, per yacht in open teams and five in all-women crews. The event will consist of a Round Robins, quarter-final, semi-finals and finals. The course will be windward / leeward with turns to starboard, and finishing towards the wind.
2010 Formula 1 kicks off in Cheste
The first training sessions for the F1 pre-season will take place on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste, the kick-off for the 2010 Formula 1 season in Valencia.
The first meeting of 2010 will gather together all the Formula 1 World Championship teams, a chance for fans in the Community of Valencia to see Fernando Alonso’s first outing with his new Ferrari and all that is new for this racing season. Training sessions will take place on 1, 2 and 3 February 2010.
2010 has got off to a good start for the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste, since its calendar for this year includes three world championship events: the Superbike World Championship on 11 April 2010, the World Touring Car Championship on 19 September 2010 and the Community of Valencia Moto GP on 7 November 2010.
